Krish's Co-op Journey + Tips This Guide will help you in your Journey of getting your Dream Internship

Resume Like a Pro:
Krish’s Playbook for Standing Out

When I began applying for co-op roles, one of the first things I realized was that your resume and cover letter aren’t just pieces of paper. They’re the first glimpse employers get into who you are, and that first impression really matters. So I took that seriously. I dedicated over 100 hours to crafting a resume that didn’t just list experiences but told a story. I used Canva to bring it to life with sleek visuals, thoughtful structure, and just the right amount of color to naturally guide the reader’s attention through each section. Every bullet point was carefully written with strong, impactful action verbs and real results that were measurable and tailored to the specific role I was targeting.

As for cover letters, I avoided the robotic, copy-paste templates. Instead, I focused on writing with a tone that felt genuine and human. I shared moments that shaped my journey, the challenges I overcame, and what truly excited me about the companies I was applying to. My goal was always to make it feel like the reader could understand not just what I’d done, but who I am and why I care.

When it came time for interviews, I let go of the pressure to be flawless. I spent weeks preparing with friends and mentors, running mock interviews and refining my responses. But I also learned the power of being honest when I didn’t know something. Rather than panicking, I walked interviewers through how I’d approach a problem, asked clarifying questions when needed, and just focused on being calm, thoughtful, and authentic. That mindset made all the difference and helped me stand out in ways that scripted answers never could.

Building KrishAdmin:
From Passion Project to Personal Brand

KrishAdmin originally began as just a simple username—a handle I used online without thinking much of it. But as the years passed, it evolved into something far greater. It became my personal brand, a platform rooted in curiosity and creativity, and a space where I could contribute meaningfully to others. I launched it during my second year of university as a reflection of my passion for technology, servers, and systems, and most importantly, my desire to genuinely help others navigate their own paths.

Over time, I immersed myself in scripting, virtualization, and system administration, and began building out various resources under the KrishAdmin umbrella. One of the biggest projects was krishadmin.com, where I documented my professional journey and curated a wide range of tools, notes, and templates specifically tailored for TMU students navigating engineering and co-op life. I also took the initiative to record union-led study sessions and upload them to my YouTube channel, creating a free, accessible library for anyone needing help reviewing material or catching up during tough semesters.

Gradually, the impact became clear. I began receiving messages from students who found real value in the content—thanking me for helping them push through difficult courses and telling me how the resources I shared made a difference in their academic experience. That’s when I realized KrishAdmin was no longer just about me. It had become a growing, supportive community.

Now, with co-op experience behind me and a more focused vision for the future, I continue to build and grow through KrishAdmin. It’s become my way of giving back and staying connected to the next wave of students stepping into the world of tech. And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started.
